Can I Go to College While I’m Working As A Flight Attendant?
Due to the irratic schedule given to a new flight attendant, it is very difficult to attend school or any regularly scheduled activity, at least in the beginning, when you will probably be on-call. Initially, flight attendants are on “reserve”, or on-call, and even though you have scheduled days off each month, you may not know where you will be all the days in between! But that is the adventure of being a flight attendant.
Everything goes by seniority in the airlines. After you have been there for awhile, you will have the higher seniority required to bid for a regular schedule and it will be somewhat easier to take classes or do other things requiring set times. But don’t count on doing that for quite some time - it may take months or even years before you are able to do that. It is best to finish whatever schooling you have in mind before you begin a flight attendant career.
